Ryanne Abraham
My Story
Ryanne Abraham grew up training at Susan’s School of Dance in Munster, IN as an elite competitive dancer as well as a JV and Varsity captain of Munster High School’s dance team from 2009-2013. After MHS, she went on to spend 4 years dancing and choreographing with Orchesis II Dance Company and graduated from Iowa State University in 2013.
After college, Ryanne spent time training at top tier Chicago studios including Visceral Dance Center, Lou Conte Dance Studio, and Beyond Words Dance Center. She began her teaching career at the age of 21 and currently teaches at various studios and works with high school teams in the Chicagoland area, recreationally and competitively.
Ryanne has a passion for dance education and loves to challenge and push each of her students to new heights. She takes each class as an opportunity to educate her students on relevant history, terminology, and anatomy to improve their body awareness and knowledge as dancers and movers. In 2019, she co-founded Activ8 Dance Company, a not-for-profit dance organization and acts as Co-Artistic Director for the company. Ryanne is heading into her 2nd year as a company member with The Kate Jablonski Statement, a professional contemporary dance company based in Lyons, Il, and will be traveling to Croatia in Summer 2021 to perform in a dance festival with KJS.
